PROGRAMMABLE CONTROL UNIT "CUP" The "CUP" is the central core of the i-MET System.
It permits the programming and processing of all necessary operations for the optimum system running and ELECTRONIC MARKERS updating. The Electronic Markers, connections with the Injection machine, communications with external peripherals and the Connection Units "UCF", if necessary, are all connected to the CUP.
All CUP models, each one specifically designed to managed the different type and format of Electronic Markers, can control a maximum number of Markers,
up to six Single Markers, two 3 Markers Monobloc and one 6 Markers Monobloc.
When connecting more Markers than those indicated above is required, a Connection Unit "UCF" will need to be used.
CONNECTION UNIT (UCF) The Connection Unit "UCF" is the expansion module of the System.
It processes and manages the information received from the Control Unit and updates all Electronic Markers connected.
According to quantity and format of Electronic Markers required for each application, the system will use one or several UCF units.
In applications with several UCF units, one of the UCF units should be connected to the CUP and the others will be connected
to each other.

Be able to identify when and how the plastic part was molded
The i-MET System, through its communications port, can be connected to any external peripheral.
Now you can mark each part with its own and unique Serial Number and send this number to a data acquisition
system for the control of the injection molding process, to record and save a complete register with all
the production parameters of every part molded.
It is possible too the simultaneous connection of the CUP devices in a RS 485 local LAN to be remote controlled
from a Central PC.
A list of commands and functions are available to control the reading and programming of all CUP data
to match all possible requirements of a specific application.

This special design, 3 different informations all together in just 15mm diameter, saves space and cost installation
in the tool cavity.

CONTROL AND ACCESS WITHOUT OBSTACLES
Due to the Bluetooth Wireless Technology used in the i-MET System, any CUP can be managed
and controlled via Bluetooth, point to point, from any PDA device
(Windows Mobile 2003
operating system) using the available software.
Only one PDA is enough to control, manage and consult the information from
all i-MET devices
currently installed in the tools of a production facility.
